Toyota confirmed on Wednesday that a second Cambridge employee had tested positive for COVID-19.
The company says the worker was one of the people who was in close contact with the first confirmed case.
The individual was identified on March 18 and Toyota says it is currently self-isolating at home.
The automaker also said public health will contact anyone who is in close contact with the first person.
“The health and safety of our team members and communities is our top priority,” said Michael Bouliane, director of corporate communications. “Our thoughts are with the affected employees and their families. ”
Production at Toyota plants in North America was halted until April 6.
