Alex Bruce says the entire Tottenham team could be sold when he tipped Willian to sign Chelsea.
The former Premier League defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider Assistant Editor Russell Edge says the Lilywhites were far too inconsistent with Mourinho’s taste.
As revealed exclusively by Football Insider, Tottenham are plotting to offer Chelsea winger Willian a substantial contract offer to seal his signature on a free transfer this summer.
Bruce insists that the Brazilian is the kind of consistent interpreter Mourinho needs, suggesting that quality signatures pose a threat to everyone.
Bruce said Football Insider: “I think everyone’s future is threatened at Spurs only because they have not reached the peaks where they should be.
“I think it’s pretty obvious to everyone and I’m sure you certainly wouldn’t have to tell Mourinho. He will know exactly where he needs to strengthen.
“We all know what type of league the Premier League is in terms of requirements and when you are a team like Tottenham, one thing you really need is to be there or there at the top of the table.
“Per minute, they were too high in terms of performance. It doesn’t surprise me that Willian, who is a constant artist, is the type of player Mourinho will want on the team.
“By the minute, the players have been too high and low and you can’t get away with it. “
Tottenham is currently eighth in the Premier League standings and is excluded from the Champions League after losing to RB Leipzig.
